Those of us who grew up in the eighties will fondly remember the music of this era and will smile when we hear it today. Wasn’t it a great time? I would compare listening to eighties music to flicking through one of my photo albums from the eighties. Some people might even say that songs are far more effective than photos for taking us back in time. I don’t know if this has ever happened to you but I have had flashbacks to times that I had completely forgotten about, all because a song I had not heard for years came on the radio.
And if you were an eighties child then you might be happy to know that this music seems to be making a comeback. Believe it or not some of our favourite eighties bands are actually making a comeback because they can make a few bob out of it. It is being called the eighties revival and bands such as Berlin, Wang Chung, ABC and Cutting Crew are appearing again. Young people today are starting to listen to this music as well as those of us who were around the first time; well with the boring music on offer today, who could blame them.
You might want to get your old eighties tunes out again if you haven’t listened to them in a while. The memories that they might stir up could amaze you. You may be surprised at how good this music still sounds. In fact there are those who would claim that there has been nothing new since that time; all we have had is repetition and variations. The good news is there are now so many places where you can enjoy this music once again; watch the videos on YouTube or listen to one of the many eighties channels on internet radio. And when you take the time to listen to your old favourite tunes, you could find that you are whisked down memory lane again.
