There are many people who decide to cycle as a way to get from one place to another. Just because you are riding a bicycle from one point to another doesn’t mean it’s your preferred way to travel. Some people have decided to take up cycling as a way to exercise. Some choose to cycle because they are in competitions with cycling. And there are others who decide to take up cycling as a hobby to share with their family or friends. When deciding to purchase a cycling bicycle, there will be a number of elements that need to be taken into account, and this is true for those wishing to enjoy cycling as a hobby, sport, or a means of getting from point A to point B. Here are some hints to help you make your choice.
One of the most important things to keep in mind is the cost of the bike. You will also be thinking about where you plan on riding your bike, as well as how often you are going to ride, but before you think about any of that you are going to have to think about the cost.
You can find bicycles that range in price from hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars. Don’t worry if you do not have this much money available, there are lots of ways to cut down on the amount of money you will spend on your bicycle. You could check out bicycles that are being auctioned off and could save tons of money while getting the best bike for you.
If you intend to get a road bike then take 9″ away from your total inseam. This is because of the size of the tires on your road bike. These tires will be thinner and designed for efficiency on concrete roads or pavements. You will want to subtract 12″ for a mountain bike. This is because the tires of a mountain bike are different than those on a road bike. Mountain bike tires are thicker than road bike tires, designed for rocky terrain. You can use mountain bikes for city cycling, but the opposite is not true and they are nowhere near as good on city streets as road bikes. By the way, be sure to check out E3Live, it is a pretty impressive supplement and I love taking it before I go riding.
Be certain to leave adequate room between yourself and your bikes crossbar. When browsing for a bike try some out, make sure the seat is a few inches above the crossbar. Make certain you can still place both feet flatly on the ground. Different bikes will need differing clearance amounts. A good example is a touring bike, with these bikes you will only need around 1″ difference. With a mountain bike however you will need some more, 3 inches should suffice.
How well you fit physically with your bike is what is most important. If you intend to use your bike a lot, perhaps as your main method of transport, it is important you keep this in mind. You need to feel safe but also comfortable on your bike, otherwise you won’t enjoy riding it! Before you go, be sure to look at our E3 Live review.
