
The Spa: A story in the renewal of body and mind
The Greeks and Romans did. Ottomans and the Japanese practiced its benefits health. Dating back to Mesopotamia, spa course is not a new phenomenon. It has been practiced for thousands of years and countless cultures.
There is some disagreement as to the derivation of the word SPA. It has been suggested that the word comes from the Latin verb "Spagere" – to spread, or as in the phrase, "Salus Per Aquam, which means" health through water, but these assertions are only suggestions. More likely, the term is derived from the name of the city Belgium, Spa, well known since medieval times as a source of Healing diseases caused by iron deficiency. Whatever its origin of words, The Spa has been a special place in many cultures. In the classical age of Homer and Other writers reported how Greeks enjoyed a variety of baths, from 500 BC Emperor Agrippa in 25 before JC, created the first Roman baths, a spa or large. As emperors tried to outdo the efforts of the last, Thermae were built in the Roman Empire, from Africa to England. These complex and sometimes extravagant included sports, restaurants, and a variety bathroom.

A variety of bathing facilities are open well to visitors on Bathhouse Row and in hotels and spa center.
Meanwhile, in New York's Saratoga Springs drew the likes of Edgar Allen Poe and Franklin Delano Roosevelt during his heyday. Its healing powers were originally well known on the surface of the Indians who presented Sir William Johnson, a British hero of the French and Indian War, the sources of his war injuries. The rich and famous also traveled to Mount Clemens Michigan, to experience its magical mineral waters pumped from 1,400 meters below the city. After the opening of the first bath house, "America's Bath City "reached its peak of popularity in the 1900s.
Elizabeth Arden, cosmetics maven, introduced thousands to the concept of A Day Spa when she opened the red door lounge in Manhattan in 1910. There, women indulged in manicures, facials, and the signature "Arden Wax. Arden also transformed her home in Maine into a health center named Maine Chance. His long list of celebrity clientele included Mamie Eisenhower. Spas of the World first destination, Rancho La Puerta, was opened in California in 1940 by Edmond and Deborah Szekely. Long before organic food is became fashionable, the Sicilians married the benefits of organic foods, which are so popular in spas today.
