NFL sport betting letdown goes on to increase for the winless San Francisco 49ers who were a preseason Football sports betting fave to win the NFC West. NFL wagering odds makers have been impressed with the hard play of the Raiders who have shown sound NFL sports wagering progress.
The 49ers will host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. San Francisco started out as a 6 point fave over Oakland at the sports book with an over/under of 40.5. Kickoff on CBS is slated for 4:10 PM Eastern.
The Oakland raiders have a record of 2-3 both straight up and with the NFL football betting odds. Oakland has gone over the total in 4 from 5 matches. Last week Oakland upset San Diego 35-27 as 7 point home longshots to snap a 2 game losing streak.
Special teams and turnovers were the key factor in the win over San Diego and Jason Campbell came off the bench to head 2 second half scoring drives as quarterback for the hurt Bruce Gradkowski. Michael Bush ran for 104 yards whereas Campbell passed for 159 yards and a touchdown.
Oakland has a much greater offense this year that ranks 11th in the NFL for scoring while the defense continues to be struggling and ranks 28th for points allowed. McFadden has 392 yards rushing for the season. Gradkowski is sketchy for Sunday.
The San Francisco 49ers are falling apart in front of the complete country and have a record of 0-5 straight up and 2-3 with the Football betting lines as they have gone under the total in just 1 game so far this season. The winning formula of a power running game and strong defense that made them an 8-8 team in 2009 has deserted San Francisco this year.
The san francisco 49ers rate 30th in the NFL for rushing and 31st in scoring. The defense ranks 27th for points granted.
Qb Alex Smith, who had a excellent comeback year a year ago, was terrible in last week’s 27-24 loss to Philadelphia as his fumble that was returned for a touchdown almost got him pulled as he quarreled with embattled head coach Mike Singletary. Smith will start Sunday but his position is in jeopardy.
Smith was the first total pick in the 2005 NFL Draft from the University of Utah Utes. To date he hasn’t truly lived up to the distinction of being a 1st pick. His career simply hasn’t made waves in the NFL. Singletary is a former linebacker for the Bears and is a Pro football Hall of Fame inductee. His coaching career commenced as linebackers coach for the Ravens, then for the San Francisco 49ers. He became head coach in 2008 following serving as the interim head coach when Mike Nolan was dismissed. To date his coaching record with the 49ers has been a vulnerable 13-17.
Oakland has performed superior football than San Francisco and the 49ers are in such a hole that their sense of urgency may be lacking. Alternatively San Francisco has nothing to lose which might make them a serious football gambling commodity.
