NBA Gambling Sports Books prefer The Lakers

For long time NBA betting probabilities fans this year’s NBA Finals betting probabilities series is like Back to the Future. When the Lakers host the Celtics in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday it’s not just a remake competition of the 2008 NBA Finals wagering matchup but it’s also a remake of the great 1980’s Finals competitions that featured the Showtime Lakers and Larry Legend. But as with anything else in sports wagering, the basketball gambling action has come full circle and the next era of Lakers and Celtics will struggle for their own NBA wagering championship in the weeks ahead.

The Lakers are a better team and sports gambling buffs and basketball wagering sportsbooks are well aware of this. Los Angeles are not only favorites in the NBA wagering to get Game 1 at home but to take the entire NBA wagering Finals series in relatively easy fashion.

A tale of the tape is a quite one-sided affair and shows how much better the Los Angeles Lakers are than the Celtics –at least on paper.

It’s not even close if you look at the team’s regular NBA wagering season records (LA 57-25; Boston 50-32). If you look at their playoff records it is more or less a wash. Los Angeles are better at almost every position on the floor, but if you look at the individual games, with the exception of Point Guard where Boston’s Rajon Rondo has been magnificent in the NBA playoff gambling action so far this year.

At SG, Kobe Bryant is one of the best there is basketball betting and he’s been amazing the previous few NBA playoff wagering games. Bryant basically provided the NBA betting victory to the Los Angeles Lakers when he took over the final two games of the Western Conference Finals. Add to that the fact that Los Angeles have three 7-footers that each go for 20 points a night and it’s a scary task for Boston.

But don’t count the Celtics out of the NBA gambling probabilities just yet. The Celtics are the best defending team in the NBA gambling and if any team can stop the Lakers attack it’s Boston. Also, do not forget that when these teams met up in the basketball betting finals two years ago the Los Angeles Lakers also looked like the better team on paper and the Celtics shut them down as Paul Peirce put the clamps on Bryant.

Since these 2 franchises at the best in NBA history, the NBA Finals will be seriously popular. While the Los Angeles Lakers have won 15 championships, Boston have won 17. 2 years ago Boston had the home court edge but this time it is Los Angeles who has the edge. The Los Angeles Lakers may also have the advantage in other areas as well. The Los Angeles Lakers have a tougher team than they had 2 years ago, and Kobe is the best player in the game. Ron Artest was not with Los Angeles and Andrew Bynum didn’t play at all two years ago. Los Angeles wants a physical presence that they should supply.

This will be the 12th time in NBA history that the Boston Celtics and Lakers have met in the NBA Finals. The Celtics won the first 8 of those meetings, Los Angeles won the next 2 and Boston won 2 years ago.
