Motocross Jersey – Motocross, ATV and Street Gear, Apparel, Parts

One of the most exciting and unique parts of motocross is jumping.  Don’t expect to just turn up the day before and get somewhere to stay.
Learning how to jump safely can be daunting for the new rider.

When it’s safe to do so you should have the balls of your feet on the pegs as it will allow you to absorb some of the bumps on the track and aid the suspension.  Regardless of whether you’ve arrived the day before or race day morning, one of the more crucial motocross racing tips is to walk the track.

Some items are mandatory, some personal preference but you should make sure that you take the minimum steps in protecting yourself.  A really good idea is to walk the track with a faster, more experienced rider.

You can stop the rear wheel kicking up by dragging the rear brake. They’ve probably ridden a lot of different tracks and you can pick up some good motocross racing tips by listening to them as they look around.

Establish a relationship with riders, and shops.  the race meeting has a rider’s briefing then go to it!

Seat bouncing is a good technique to use when you’re approach into a jump is short and you need more height and/or distance.

Practice sessions vary in length so find out how long your practice will be beforehand. With your three outside fingers on the clutch pull the clutch in and select first or second gear.

The rule of the track here is to leave the clutch out while braking so the engine helps slow you down. Wait for everyone else to start and practice a couple of starts yourself.  A good rider can make his bike drift slide into a corner real pretty like by leaving that low end lever out (the clutch).

To get really good at it you have to have a lot of talent, know all the techniques inside and out and then practice it frequently in many ways over a long period of time.  It takes much more finesse than just charging into the turns at full speed and hoping you’ll be able to make it when you get in there.

I’ll tell you right up front that being comfortable riding on the balls of the feet takes a lot of practice.  It all comes with knowing the correct techniques and a lot of quality practice time.

If you’re super fit then your race plan is pretty simple, just go as hard as you can for the entire race.

This article is so all over the place that it’s useless. It really sounds like a good tip is about to come out and then it switches to something not even related other than it has to do with MX. Even the title is out of left field. Thanks… I think I’ve forgotten how to ride altogether after reading this article.
