Losing-Weight-with-Healthy-Food–You-Are-What-You-Eat!

Remember that famous proverb, you are what you eat? You may have thought it was just a phrase used by parents who want their children to eat their vegetables but you actually are what you eat! For example, the amino acids found in the tuna from a tuna sandwich are digested and utilized by your body for muscle and cell building. Your physical appearance is a reflection of what you eat, and when you eat junk food you will observe that your skin looks worse and you look fatter than you do when you consume healthier foods. Hence, diet is the first place to begin when you wish to lose weight. When your diet is not very healthy, working out too won’t help you. It’s essential that you include good and nutritious food in your diet.

So, what should you include in your nutritious diet that will accelerate weight loss? The objective is to reduce the calories so that you lose weight, but without starvation or causing yourself to splurge on junk food. It’s a good idea to slowly change your eating habits by slowly including healthy food and decreasing the number of calories you eat. Slowly phase in healthy meals and eliminate snacks and meals one by one. Protein is the first thing to put in your diet. Your body needs protein for cell repair and muscle building, among other things. It is easy to get sufficient protein by adding foods such as beef, chicken, pork, eggs, and soya products to your diet. A second crucial food group to add to your diet plan is carbohydrates. Don’t go crazy on carbs though, as too many will just turn into fat if the energy from them isn’t used! Rather, go for more nourishing complex carbs such as whole grain bread and brown rice. Last, you must add fats. Surprisingly, your body needs fats in your diet even when you’re working to lose weight. Go for healthy fats that are contained in things such as peanuts and fish. Also eat a great deal of fresh greens and fruits so that your body receives all the vitamins and minerals it needs.

You should also be mindful of the varieties of foods you must avoid. Most of them are pretty evident; avoid consuming too much fat by ingesting lean cuts of meat and avoid junk food as it contains so many calories of little nutritional value. Try not to eat processed (or simple) sugars (things like processed bread and pasta), go for complex and whole carbs, like the brown rice mentioned previously. Do away with alcohol whenever feasible because it will not help you to slim down.

Now you know the foods that you need to and shouldn’t eat. Go over your diet and come up with some nutritious meals that are good for you. If you’re having trouble with portion size try eating 5 or 6 small meals each day as your tummy will get smaller, meaning you will feel fuller more quickly and therefore ingest less food.
