Ideas For Christmas Presents For Mum

Mum’s aren’t the easiest member of the family to shop for, especially if you’re a man. Jewellery can be expensive and risky, seeing as it’s hard to know what she will actually like, and chocolates and flowers are predictable and unlikely to really make her smile. So to give you a bit of a hand, here’s a handful of Christmas gift ideas for your mum

First off, ensure you avoid anything she’s said she needs for round the house. You don’t want to get here something she needs, you should be looking for something she wants. So make sure you avoid getting her a new iron or anything like that.

Instead, get her something that shows you’ve put in a lot of thought and effort. Something that you’ve thought about and made personal to her is usually a good option, you could find her favourite old photo and get it enlarged or made into a canvas print.

You can also get chocolates, just don’t be predictable about it. Instead of going for a pre-packed box of chocolates from your local supermarket, go down to a specialist chocolate shop such as Thorntons and put together your own selection of chocolates you know she’ll like. Then put in a hand-made card and get it professionally wrapped. That shows a much greater level of effort and thought and will go down much better than a shop bought box of chocolates. You could even opt for getting single, gourmet chocolates, wrap them and add them in as stocking fillers.

The same thing applies to toiletries, and you can go to the same amount of effort. Go to a specialist, luxury store (such as Lush in the UK) and make your own collection of hand-made toiletries. These specialist shops will usually put everything together in a wrapped presentation box for you too.

I hope that’s given you a few ideas for good gifts for her this year. There’s no reason you need to be predicatable this Christmas, with a little thought and effort you’ll be able to show her how much she means to you.
