Hot Tub Chemicals maintenance.
Owning a Spa does not require lot of hard work. A few simple routines to keep your water sparkling clean and your spa in excellent condition.
Your filter.
Your filter should be removed and sprayed with a hose regularly. We recommend that you clean your spa
filters about once a month with a filter cleaning solution. Cleaning the filter is important because dirt and debris
trapped in the filter in your spa can slow the flow water and affect the performance of The Spa. The process is simple:
Place the filter in a bucket with filter cleaning solution and allow the dirt and particles floating in the water. After
soaking, the filter should be sprayed thoroughly again to remove remaining dirt clean and fluid.
You can buy an extra filter to keep on hand. This way, you can allow your filter to soak, put the
replacement filter and use your spa immediately, in addition, it will allow the original dry filter and return to its "structure", and also it lengthen the life of your filters.
We are often asked "how much time if a final filter – as is often the case, it depends on the amount use of the spa. One thing is certain and it will not last as long as your seller first spa you have said. Filters do not last a year, in fact, they can last for six month. Your acrylic shell.

Clean Water.
Even if you have an ozonator, you still need to use chemicals to kill bacteria and other germs that may be present

- Mineral based purifiers: These purifiers use cartridges that are placed inside the spa filters and replaced every
- Chlorine granules or tablets: This is the most common and widely known sanitizer water. There are chlorine tablets and granules created specifically for the use of spa tub available at retailers. Recommended care Hot Tub Routine Maintenance.
Daily:
Check the sanitizer level and the dose needed
Check the pH level and the dose needed
Clean waterline of the water with cleaning paste
Weekly
Oxidize Spa with non chlorine shock or SpaGuard SpaLite.
Add No Foam control foaming
If in the area of the calcium hardness add lime to prevent limescale
Monthly
Clean using the filter cartridge or cartridge Cleaner SpaGuard FilterBrite.
Periodically:
Due to the accumulation of total dissolved solids (TDS) will completely drain the spa and filling. There are no rigid rules regarding when it should be done, but the following formulation seems to work well in practice:
Hot tub liters, divided by daily bathers divided per day = 12 between drain and fill
Example: 1200 liters divided by 2 divided by 12 = 50 days.
Balance water.

Alkalinity total pH
Calcium Hardness
It varies depending on where you live and where your water comes and it is very important that the
correct level is established. As the water of a guidewire tends to be low in calcium and water hardness lasts longer

Calcium Hardness level for Hot Tubs is between 100 to 200 mg / l.

Total Alkalinity
TA acts as a buffer to prevent pH changes and if the level is too low, the pH fluctuates considerably, if the pH is too high

pH levels
Regular pH checks are an essential part of your routine maintenance bath using test strips.
The pH scale has a range of 0 to 14 with 0 being very acidic, 7 being neutral and 14 being very alkaline. For tubs the ideal
range is between 7.4 to 7.6, which is slightly alkaline to protect the spa and prevent corrosion of equipment. This
provides also the most comfortable conditions for bathers and good sanitiser efficiency.
If the level is below 7.4 use sodium carbonate to raise the level.
If the level is above 7.6 use dry acid to reduce the level.
Sanitation
The disinfection of your spa water is necessary to kill bacteria and helps prevent algae growth. Level
be regularly checked with test strips and can be as chlorine or bromine
Bromine
It is a disinfectant Efficient hot water and ideal for spas.
It is effective over a wide pH range and has little odor.
Comes in tablet form which makes easy to apply and avoids having to dose everyday.
The ideal Bromine level is between 3 to 6 mg / l.
Chlorine
This is available form of granules that are rapidly soluble and therefore a good sanitiser.
It has little effect on pH levels.
The ideal level of chlorine is between 3 to 5 mg / l.
Oxidizing
It is necessary to oxidize your spa weekly with chlorine shock not.
It destroys odors and waste such as perspiration, cosmetics and body oils.
