The Dark Age of Spas
With the fall of Rome and the rise of Christianity in Europe, the purity of the body was less bath and Desist infidelity. Since that time the baths became synonymous dens of iniquity, the Spa fell with Rome. Thus, age darkness were also smelly.
With the fall of the Roman bathing was officially banned. spiritual cleansing was considered more important than the medicinal bath. Some of these bathing complexes were themselves transformed into churches while others of the class aristocratic elite could still take advantage of taking the waters. People generally avoided going anywhere near swimming. It was not uncommon for people to go for years without bathing. Makes you glad you have not lived at the time it is not.
From the 13th century, the baths have gradually started to go through. The Moors rebuilt spas public that their influence spread throughout Europe, Relaxation and medicinal value is returned in popularity.
Fear of the disease and a lack of understanding on how it was spread leads to a further decline in public baths in the 16th century. However, some Italian doctors have found some of lost texts on ancient medicine treatments and therapeutic value of water. At the end of the year 1500 two of them Bacci and Minardo had published articles reviewing the value of the bathroom for his healthy lifestyle. Bacci believed that to really benefit a person must be able to conduct orderly quiet life in a pleasant atmosphere with good food and wine. Unfortunately, this precludes most people because they had no time for leisure or money to the other ingredients.
By the early 1800s, the value of The Spa has been rediscovered and "take waters "has grown to include more than the general population. The doctors were convinced that Mother Nature has a cure for everything we did suffer as a source of mineral water. The medicinal purposes and principles of thermal water (balneotherapy) and hydrotherapy have been recorded by Priessnitz and Kneipp. Kneipp has adopted a Holistic approach to treatment of disease. While spas and resorts focus Service rich, Kneipp focused on the common man.
With interest in the mineral waters and the development of springs hotels were popular throughout Europe and North America America. Each Resort has its own village growing around it with theater, a casino and walk along the bathing facility. The spa has become the place to be and be seen for the elite and a place for artists to get their creativity. Baden-Baden, Germany has become the most glamorous seaside resort of Europe.
