If you’ve resolved to lose some weight, then you’ll have most probably have come up with some sort of workout plan. So perhaps you’re new to working out or you haven’t been exercising in a while. Whatever exercise program you decide upon, walking should be an integral part of it.
You’ll be surprised how easy it is to squeeze walking into your workout program. Are you a dog owner? Take it for a fine, long walk. Anything under 10 minutes doesn’t count. 10 minutes may not feel like like a lot of walking, but over the course of a month, or even a week, it adds up quickly. Interested to get some more exercise? Take Fido for two walks every day. Or how about walking to work, or at least a portion of the way? This is something you can do irrespective of how far you live from your workplace. Walking for 30 minutes to work is doable, and if you walk to and from work you’ll be walking for an hour daily. If you use the bus to get to your place of work, simply begin using a stop that’s a little farther from either end. You’ll see it truly is no big deal to add more walking to your daily workout plan.
Walking is one of the simplest and most effective things you can do to be healthy. The reason is that walking is one of the best aerobic workouts. This means it’s not just good for your heart, but you’ll experience weight loss also. Walking is usually slow placed, so you won’t be stressing your joints too much, unlike running. I have a brother who’s one of those folks who ingests a ton of junk and fast food but never gains weight. How does he do it? He tells me doesn’t have an idea how he manages to do it, but he did tell me that he goes for a walk every day. It all became clear when he mentioned that. There’s no excuse not to exercise, when walking is so simple.
Try and get into the habit of walking everyday as you’ll have a better chance of sticking to it, and with the correct diet, you’ll be able to lose weight with no problem. As you get accustomed to walking, you’ll notice that you’re unquestionably feeling better and, because it’s not that hard on you, your motivation will be enhanced also. As you walk more and see changes, you’ll want to do more or increase the level of intensity of your walks. If you feel you can walk more – do it. Who knows? It could be that you’ll get used to walking a lot that you decide to give jogging a try. From there, you can progress to more vigorous exercises.
There should be no excuse for you to not take a walk even if it’s a short distance each day. Even if you lead a busy life you can spend 10 minutes to walk around the neighborhood, or if you’re a member of a gym, nip in and do half an hour on the treadmill at a slow pace to start off with.
