The first memorable Movie moments
Great Films are an integral part of modern culture. Movies allow us to visit distant lands, travel in time, learn new things, and more. The first films, or rolls, captivated audiences with its depiction of everyday life and people, but it was not long before science fiction films of the early fantasy and historical epic sprang from the mind of the filmmakers pioneers.
The first movies, or a winding, were created by French magician Georges Melies in 1896. Although he made many films in his life, he is best known for a trip to the Moon, who is considered the first science fiction film ever made. Using stop action photography and overlapping, Melies created special effects on the film that had never been seen before.
The silent era saw the creation of the first full-length films, including Queen Elizabeth, Starring the famous French Actress Sarah Bernhardt. The Producer and director DW Griffith made film history with his film The War civilians from Birth of a Nation, in 1915 and Intolerance in 1916. Most films of this time were westerns, Comedies and romances set in exotic locations.
From 1926 to Warner Brothers Studio, the talkies, or talkies took the industry by storm. The 1927 film, The Jazz Singer, starring Al Jolson and his famous phrase, no sound, however, is considered the beginning of the end of the silent film era. At first, these early sound films were dominated by sound effects and little real dialogue, but with time, the dialogue became one of the most vital components of cinema, Directors and writers developed the development of new techniques of film and Directing.
Before color film made in 1906, but it was not until 1933 that the first Technicolor process was refined and used in the film Becky Sharp, in 1935. In the early 1950s, movies began to dominate color film, black and white became increasingly used for dramatic effect, and not as a primary medium of film. The 1950s also saw the brief emergence of 3-D film, which requires the viewer to wear polarized sunglasses, and the birth of cinema widescreen processes such as Panavision and Todd AO.
Movies have come a long way from the reels silently beneath the late 1800s, and have seen many inventions, such as 3 D glasses, and innovations such as widescreen movies, digital imaging technology, Technicolor and sound, come and go. many different types of films are made every day that the possibility of creating more memorable moments in the film almost endless.
