Universal Studios was founded by Carl Laemmle, a German of Jewish origin and is the second oldest of study in Hollywood. He realized the potential of moving images and the success of Universal Studios has given reason.
Hollywood has been credited with many Films successful and memorable in recent years. The film industry began in 1900 and as of now, there are many famous studies involved in Film Production and their names and logos have become familiar to people.
From these studies, Universal Studios is credited with some of the biggest hits Hollywood has seen. It goes to the credit of the Universal that have been able to successfully tide over the difficult times that the Movie industry had to face from time to time. It started with the change in the era of silent films to talkies and Universal Studio was able to manage the transition successfully.
The next issue facing the film industry was the release of the Movie Stars of the production houses in an effort to become more independent. This happened in the 1950s and Universal Studio again managed to lift act together by channeling their energy into making TV shows and Movies Made specifically for television.
In the early years, Hollywood was churning out low-budget westerns and serials. Over time, the rules for scripts and production also has improved. In the 1930s, Universal Studio launched Quiet on the Western Front, a film based on the First World War went on to win the Academy Award for Best Cinematography.
Subsequently, Universal Studios became synonymous with Horror films produced after successful Frankenstein and the Mummy and Dracula. Some of his films have been happy had the memorable performances of Mae West, WC Fields and Deanna Durbin. In the 1950s, many stars including Cary Grant was the leading man under contract to Universal Studios. Other stars like Doris Day and Rock Hudson helped create magic with the romantic comedy Pillow Talk while James Stewart helped create another sensation by talking to a giant rabbit in The Movie Harvey.
Universal Studios has taken risks to make films that had issues difficult. These films as the representation of Nazi Germany during the Holocaust film Schindler's List did not have to appeal to a wider audience. But their success took everyone by surprise. Similarly, Twelve Monkeys, film is the subject of mental illness also received critical acclaim. And who can forget the blockbusters like Jurassic Park and ET. It is surprising to note that Universal Studios has had successes to its credit in each decade.
